In Glass Perspective, the viewer is invited to peer through a distorted reality. Two glass spheres float within the composition, their surfaces clear and reflective, yet perplexing. They capture the surrounding bamboo forest and return it in a new dimension—warped, twisted, yet still recognizable. As if offering a glimpse into another world, a dreamlike fantasy just beyond our reach.
This surreal drawing balances between reality and illusion, embracing a style best described as dreamlike realism. The delicate contrasts of white pencil and charcoal against a deep black background enhance the optical illusion, making it seem as though one is peering through a magical lens. The bamboo, a symbol of flexibility and strength, appears to breathe between the spheres, suspended in a delicate balance between nature and perception.
Through the illusion of transparency and reflection, a dialogue emerges between the viewer and the image. Glass Perspective invites contemplation—a quiet moment of reflection where one questions what is real and what is merely a reflection of one's own perception.
After seeing my work Glass Perspective, a close friend asked me to design a tattoo inspired by the drawing. This is a detail of the final design. Once the tattoo is completed, I’ll share the finished result here as well.
